The born last of the Bluetooth® range are the Class1 Bluetooth® RS232 Dongle identified under the ARF62 reference.
These dongles are wireless Bluetooth® Class1 network adaptors usable for full duplex data transfer between Bluetooth® equipments over 150m. They integrate the Bluetooth® V2 stack and are Bluetooth® certified.
They take advantage of an extremely compact design with a built-in professional antenna. Depending on the version, they are available as; DCE / DB9 female, DTE / DB9 male or DTE / DB15HD male. These dongles are THE solution for wirelessly linking all devices designed to be connected to a laptop or desktop PC, through an RS232 DB9 or DB15 serial port. They are able to replace industrial cables to build any connection between an RTC / GPRS modem and a PROFESSIONAL PDA or between a PC and any Bluetooth® device.
The 1st application which integrate the dongles is a a system to monitor Plcs in a professional building at some distance from the factory.
The RS232 wired connection between the PLCs and the modem is replaced easily using a transparent wireless Bluetooth® transmission. Communication is set up using the female Bluetooth® DCE/DB9 dongle for use with the PLCs, which offers a wireless connection to a modem connected to a male Bluetooth DTE/DB9 dongle.
This configuration makes it possible to send instructions and to return to the alarm status in the monitoring centre found in a nearby building.
ARF62 is useful due to its DUN profile that ensures the transfer of all control signals of a complete RS32 beyond serial transmission.
