Transceivers with µC ARF34 & ARF54 were recently chosen by a market leader in the heating and cooling sector for the development of a remote-controlled radio system for reversible air-conditioning equipment used in hotel chains.
The ARF34 module is a transceiver allowing a digital two-way link over 1000m. It positions itself as a complete radio solution integrating a digital radio transceiver with µC, dedicated firmware and a PCB integrated antenna. Data transmission is carried out via a UART TTL type interface. The ARF54 module has the same characteristics but positions itself as a version covering applications that require long-distance communication or in an unstable environment. It has RF radiated strength of 500mW, which allows it to cover a distance of up to 6km.
Other than its simplicity of integration and implementation thanks to the possibility of configuration by AT command, the fact that the ARF34 and ARF54 modules had the same “form factor” and are thus interchangeable are what convinced the buyer in its choice of constructor.
