Air Liquide Welding launches the version 2 of ALPHATOME, its well-known automatic plasma cutting machine. Air Liquide Welding
• Effective trajectory control
• Accurate positioning to the nearest 0.1 mm, measured at the height of the cutting job regardless of position (length or width),
• Perfect interactivity between machine movements and process management.
ALPHATOME has been designed for an easy integration in workshop. Depending on the options selected, supply lines are installed on the right or left, while the position of the control console is determined by the conditions of use.
A high performance minded conception
The machine is designed to offer all the characteristics required for machine tool operation:
• High-prkmlkecision guidance along the X, Y and Z axes through the use of linear ball-race systems protected by embedded coverage and lower than the table.
• High-quality drive guaranteed by the use of brushless motors.
• Tough raceway with rigid structure perfectly suited to process constraints.
• A 700 mm height table for easy load/unload plate.
• Beam and railway covering. The beam comes with a “cover” made up of the following main parts (depending on model): a front guard curtain that lifts up - it is controlled by the numerical control HPC, a fixed rear guard curtain, 2 quick-opening side doors providing easy access to the torch(es) to replace wear parts, This “beam cover” protection is designed to provide visual shielding against the plasma arc. At any point during the process, the operator can lift the front curtain to view cutting progress. The railways cover provides increased protection for operators and equipment.
• Safety devices. 7 emergency stops are located at different points on the machine allowing the operator to work in full safety environment. 2 switches to stop the machine cycle are located in the opening side doors and connected to the key locking. It guarantees that the machine starts in safety condition after wear parts have been replaced.
The cross beam is composed of 2 elements supporting the transverse guide rails to ensure extremely precise torch positioning. The 2 cross-beam elements are spaced to accommodate an optional servo-controlled bevelling unit or a drilling unit.
The machine comes with an effective width of 2 m, 2.5 m, 3 m and 4 m, depending on the requested application. Modular elements (2 m or 3 m) are used to obtain also the required effective cutting length.
