Åkerströms Björbo launch new mobile platform
Remotus T-Rx is the name of Åkerströms’ new mobile platform for radio remote control of mobile applications. Examples of different mobile applications are sludge suction units, side loaders, load changers, container trucks, concrete pumps etc. The products within Remotus T-Rx are characterized with ruggedness, durability, flexibility and reliability. First to be launched are three receivers; T-Rx 100, T-Rx 1000 and T-Rx 1500.
Right now we’re launching the first products within Remotus T-Rx; T-Rx 100, a CANopen based receiver for control via existing PLCs, T-Rx 1000, a receiver with up to 24 on/off functions and T-Rx 1500 a complete analogue receiver. The receivers are designed to tolerate tough conditions such as drastic temperature differences, dust, vibrations, oil and humidity.
The receivers have double safety outputs and a very high security on transmitted radio messages. They have double microprocessors that monitor each other, each message is checked before it’s accepted and diagnostic testing is done during operation. The receivers comply with safety category 4 (EN954-1).
Teach-in function
Personal settings or appropriate operating characteristics such as initial and maximum speed or feeling in the control lever can easily be set with a “Teach-In” feature.
Optimal solutions for tough environments
“We are currently working intensively with the production of these products alongside several exciting customer projects where the new products are tested,” says Andreas Hedström, Sales Manager at Åkerströms Björbo. “The new mobile platform will open up many new doors for us. Previously we have not really been able to offer optimal solutions for these markets where there are very high demands on the products durability and functionality”, says Andreas. The receivers can in many cases be placed in extremely exposed places such as under a road vehicle where it basically is placed completely unprotected for salt, gravel and water. Another example may be machines within building construction or drilling rigs where the receivers are subjected to tremendous vibrations. The new receivers are designed to handle tough conditions and pressures. They are IP67-classified which means they are water-and dust-tight.
