Ulrich Weimer will hand over the management of Armacell International Holding GmbH to Dr. Mark Harakal on 6 October. The current Chief Executive Officer and long-standing President of the company will step down from the operative business at the end of the year for reasons of age. He will continue to support the management as a shareholder and senior advisor.

In Mark Harakal Armacell has found the ideal successor for Ulrich Weimer. His sound technical knowledge, his many years of experience in the management of international companies, his engaging manner and cosmopolitan nature are ideal prerequisites for steering the company successfully. Mark Harakal can look back on a distinguished career in the chemical industry in the USA, Asia and Europe. Before moving to Armacell, he was President and CEO of Hatteras Yacht / Hatteras Collection in North Carolina, USA, a division of American shipbuilders Brunswick Corporation.

Ulrich Weimer has had a decisive influence on Armacell’s corporate development. When he took over responsibility for Armstrong Professional insulation Products in 1983, this division with four branches worldwide made an annual turnover of approximately 30 to 40 million US dollars. In 2000, Ulrich Weimer spun off the division from the US group by gaining financially strong investors for the independent company Armacell. Today Armacell has approximately 2,500 employees at 20 production facilities in 13 countries and a gross annual turnover of around 400 million euros.

To ensure a seamless transfer of all processes and maintain the growth momentum of the business, Ulrich Weimer will continue to work closely with Mark Harakal until the end of the year.
