  • Arno Arnold presents the new, modular protection system Strapano
Telescopic sheets without bellows offer numerous advantages

As the development partner and supplier of custom-made protective Made-in-Germany paneling, Arno Arnold has been one of the leading addresses for manufacturers of machines, plant, devices and equipment. Product lines such as Catena, Curvelet, Wings, Winglet, Dynapan, Modusys, Detecta, Quickstep as well as Fix&Finish not only show an innovative spirit and strength, the comprehensive range also reflects the solution-orientated customer focus that constantly generates trailblazing developments, which have given rise to many patents. The latest example: Strapano. This new development will offer all the advan-tages of a covering with telescopic sheets, but has a design that com-pletely dispenses with bellows.

For manufacturers and also end customers, the slimline design offers many advantages: In comparison with protective covers based on bel-lows, Strapano saves up to 15% on space when pressed together. The masses to be moved are lower, which increases the acceleration of the axes without compromising process reliability, and the positioning preci-sion of the kinematics can be improved while consuming less energy. Furthermore, the new bellows-free development is simplicity itself with a naturally modular form. The telescopic sheets of the Strapano protective system can be installed, removed, replaced and extended without tools.

Wolf Matthias Mang, managing director of Arno Arnold GmbH: "The te-lescopic sheets are evenly applied and present a closed, sealed surface to the workspace. Even hot or sharp chips are consistently deflected. We can adapt the sealing properties of the sheets to specific customer re-quirements. In each case, the combination of materials and geometry guarantee durable service.

The Strapano protective system consists of metal and functional ele-ments made from an intrinsically rigid thermoplastic elastomer that con-nects the telescopic sheets. The minimized number of parts and in par-ticular the use of a limited range of materials conserves resources and of course also simplifies the environmentally important recycling of mate-rials at the end of the product's useful life.

Wolf Matthias Mang: "With Strapano we are offering designers another innovative solution for economical protective covers. Strapano represents a functionally reliable product that successfully meets the increasing requirements of dynamics, speed, precision, reliability, durability and price. The system is modular and highly versatile. It can be perfectly integrated in the overall design and promises the customer a high degree of functional reliability and great durability."
