The Ascon’s “deltadue” series offers several modules for analogue and digital I/Os, PID control, acquisition and transmission. The modules include: universal analogue inputs (Pt100, T/C, mA, mV), current transformer inputs; universal control and retransmission outputs (mA, relay, SSR, electric servomotor, digital), PID algorithm with overshoot control; heat/cool PID; servomotor PID; ON/OFF control; alarm thresholds. The series includes the DX module, which can now be used also for the data transfer between the modules. The threshold on a temperature acquisition module can, for example, be used to change the Setpoint on one or more PID control modules. Other applications may require the change of the PID parameters, the change of a threshold value or any other parameter available in the system driven by an alarm or a digital input. The DX, together with the DY module, offer fieldbus connectivity to PROFIBUS DP / DeviceNet / CANopen an Modbus, WebSCADA and Manager functions including automatic learning and back-up of the modules configuration data; Hot Swapping; automatic configuration and parameterization of the replaced modules; offline configuration and parameterization. The Ascon’s “deltadue” modules find one of their typical uses in applications requiring accurate single loop or multi loop PID control and handling of discrete loops, which can find the appropriate solution by using PID control modules supporting the PLC. The “deltadue” modules can work as independent units since no back planes or communication modules are needed. The DX and DY are required only if the Data Transfer, Gateway or Manager functions are necessary.
