At the Hanover Fair Aucotec AG for the first time shows a complete workflow for plant design with mechatronical units and 3-D representation using the object-oriented tool Engineering Base (EB). Thanks to its database foundation a genuine plant model is created instead of a collection of circuit diagrams. This model can be closely linked to the innovative world of the 3-D systems. The drive unit in the field, the control professional cabinet including devices and industrial control software or connection professional cable as mechatronical unit are immediately linked with the 3-D model of the assembly situation so that the designer is in full command.

In this way mechatronical units are functionally assembled to integrated plants, spatial positions are specified in 3-D, cable lengths determined from this, retransferred into the virtual EB plant model and there adopted into the plant documentation.
