Linking Electrical Engineering and Facility Management
The most recent cooperation of the ECAE system house Aucotec with the facility professional software company Faciware signals a new dimension on the documentation and editing of facilities. For the first time it has thus become possible to combine a software package for managing production halls including their infrastructure with the design of electrical engineering for machines and plants.
Example Production Hall
When a new machine or facility is to be incorporated into a machining line, it may become necessary to redesign the complete hall assignment. FaciPlan, the facility industrial management software, maps the complete hall layout. It recognizes overlong material paths or improper arrangements at once. The machine data stored in the plan contains both the dimensions and brand designation and the output in kW and the required protection in amperes. Thereby it is possible to recognize already in the planning phase whether the power supply suppliers of the machine is sufficient at the intended location.
Completely New Comprehensive View
The hall design can be integrated into Aucotec’s data-based ECAE tool Engineering Base (EB) and can be edited in both systems. When the drawing is opened in EB, Faciplan is activated in parallel. The user can import all data relevant for the infrastructure into the hall design using function or machine symbols and navigate from there to all links. Alternatively the electrotechnical planning is started in Faciplan, only then to create new machines or infrastructure with the EB object management. For comprehensive evaluations, machines can be combined to groups, the data can be exported to Excel and the database and can be handed over to SAP as needed.
