The new BAUR digital stepper drives series for 2 phase steppers and 3-phase steppers was recently enhanced with new functionaliy. Using state-of-the-art electronic components such as a digital signal processor (DSP) made it possible to realize new control processes for the drives.
Especially noteworthy features are:

1. AUTOMATIC CONTROLLER SETUP
At power on the attached stepper motor is electronically analyzed and the operating parameters are automatically tuned so that motor dynamic and running performance are set to an optimum.

2. AUTOMATIC OPERATING PARAMETER ADJUSTMENT
Serveral conditions are constantly monitored while the drive is operational and an adjustment of the operating parameters takes place continuously. This feature keeps the motor output torque longer constant allowing dynamic positioning moves even at higher motor speeds.

3. STAND-BY MODE
When idle the power drive automatically switches to a Stand-By Mode. Sitll delivering the maximum holding torque the motor is absolutely quiet. This feature is especially important for applications in the office, lab or medical environments.
