Ecological Compressed Air Thanks To Retrofitting BOGE
The DUOTHERM module recently launched by BOGE compressed air systems is engineered to retrofit directly to existing screw compressors to provide an external heat recovery system – irrespective of the year of construction, performance and manufacturer.
The BOGE DUOTHERM allows more than 70 percent of the used energy to be recovered in the form of heat. The key element of this system is a generously dimensioned plate heat exchanger which can be easily connected by a few minor adjustments to the oil system of the compressor and the service and process water network – significantly increasing the energy efficiency of the compressed air station and protecting the environment at the same time.
License for energy saving
"Increasing energy costs and a growing awareness of environmental issues made a number of users of compressed air stations realize that the enormous potential of the compressor waste heat should be prevented from dissipating unused into the atmosphere.”With the use of BOGE DUOTHERM alone, energy costs can be reduced by more than 70 percent. The compressor can thus be transformed into an energy saving machine with a sharp rise in overall efficiency", explains Dieter Richter, Head of the BOGE Development Center.
Rapid amortization
Investment costs for heat recovery systems are very much dependent on the structural conditions at the site of installation and need to be taken into consideration since they play an important role with regard to the pay-off period of the installation. According to BOGE's previous experiences, the pay back period for a DUOTHERM investment can be as little as six months. "The facts show that an investment in DUOTHERM pays for itself. This should be self-evident to any manager, controller or purchaser", emphasizes the head of the development department.
Versatile use
The DUOTHERM system is available in five versions suitable for oil injection cooled screw compressors from 7.5 to 110 kW. It is easy to install and, due to its compact design, it requires minimal space in order to sustainably improve the compressor's energy efficiency.
Expert planning
Prior to installing the BOGE DUOTHERM a heat requirement assessment should be carried out for the area in which the heat recovery system is to be used. In this regard our expert team will prove indispensable and are ready to help you to make the most of any possible saving potential – in both compressed air production and waste heat recovery.
