Calex Electronics Limited announces the addition of 28 and 48 Volt DC output models to the TH 200 Watt series. The TH Series features an ultra wide 9 to 36 Volt input range which accomodates 12 Volt battery, 24 Volt industrial and 28 Volt COTS military applications. The TH models provide a true 9 to 36 Volt input range with start-up down to 9VDC. All models can be modified for start-up below 9VDC for particularly demanding applications. The TH is housed in a cast case and potted with a thermally conductive potting compound providing an innovative ruggedized solution at competitive commercial pricing. The TH is offered to bridge the gap between purely commercial solutions and the demanding requirements of automotive, industrial and COTS military applications.
In addition to the 4:1 input range, the TH offers pulse by pulse current limiting, over-temperature protection, and auto softstart. The output voltage of the TH also has a very wide trim range, from -35 to +10% of the nominal Vout. The TH also provides remote sense for voltage regulation directly at the load. The TH has zero turn-on overshoot and a temperature coefficient of only 0.005%/C. The TH, unlike many half brick solutions on the market, will fully regulate the output down to a no-load condition. Load Regulation and Line Regulation is 0.02% and 0.01% respectively. Load Transient Overshoot is 4% and Load Transient Recovery Time is 200us. The TH includes Remote ON/OFF which is particularly useful for battery applications. The idle current in the OFF state is only 40mA.
The case temperature operating range for the TH is -40ºC to +100ºC. The storage temperature is -40ºC to +120ºC. The case thermal shutdown temperature is 105ºC. The cast case is designed with threaded through holes to allow easy mounting or the addition of a heatsink for extended temperature operation. The MTBF of the TH is over 1M hours. The units is designed to meet UL/cUL 60950 and IEC/EN 60950-1.
