The new SafeCIS3 controller from CEDES was predestined to be used in combination with the Safe400 safety light curtain. This ‘team’ enables the world’s most compact and economical safety solution with finger protection, which satisfies category 4 according to EN ISO 13849-1 and SIL CL 3 according to EN 62061.

The combined use of these two safety components opens new possibilities for machine and equipment designers, both for new concepts and for backfitting of existing machines. The compact dimensions of the SafeCIS3 controller (22,5 x 111 x 125 mm) and the Safe400 safety light curtain (cross-section 15 x 20 mm) enable them to be integrated ni such a way that the ergonomics and ease of use of the machine are not effected at all.

The Safe400 safety light curtain is so compact that it can be installed where there simply isn't space for other sensors. Capacity and reliability are nevertheless those of a normal sized light curtain in every way.

The SafeCIS3 is not limited to just monitoring the status of the
Safe400 light curtains. Other safety components can also be connected and monitored, like for example an emergency stop button or interlock switch. The SafeCIS3 comes standard with two high capactiy PNP outputs. If the application requires the use of a relay, this can be simply snapped on as an extension module, and the monitoring of external relays is also possible. Various relay extension modules and Bus extension modules enable direct integration into the most diverse types of master controllers. Using an optical interface, the safety controller can be set-up and adjusted incredibly quickly to the required parameters, such as muting, blanking or stroke operation.
