The Elettrostart solenoids offer high performances both of force and of stroke (up to 50 mm) in relation to the sizes fairly reduced.
The pull coil by the high power (intermittent duty) is able to guarantee a force greater than the traditional single coil electromagnets.
The Elettrostart solenoids usually are used for the stop and the acceleration of diesel engines.

There are two versions:

Double coil Elettrostart solenoids (E-ES) with two winding (continuous duty):
1) POWER coil, that is energized only in the initial phase to move the plunger;
2) HOLDING coil, that stays energized in continuous duty during the following phase to keep the plunger at the end of the stroke.

The passing from the first phase to the second one is possible by:

- an internal switch, which has pressed from the plunger at the end of stroke. So it’s important the setting of the stroke to get the bottom.
- an external electronic timer (IE04), which after the initial phase switches off the power coil. This solution is to prefer in dusty or salty environments for his sealing construction (saltcellar cars, mines, etc.) and for repeated accelerations of the engine (refrigerator cars, aerial platforms, etc.)
