Cemp announces its High Efficiency motors - IE2 Cemp srl

  • Cemp announces its High Efficiency motors - IE2
The International Electro-technical Commission (IEC) has published the new efficiency Standard IEC60034-30, that defines the principles and harmonizes the classes of energetic efficiency through the world. The new standard divides the electric motors in three levels of efficiency:

IE1= Standard efficiency
IE2= High efficiency
IE3= Premium efficiency

The level of efficiency and the IE class needs to be engraved on the plate and written in the product documentation. The new Standards concern the electric motors with the following characteristics:

• Induction motor; Three-phase; Squirrel cage; Single speed
• Power supply up to 1000 V
• Rated output from 0.75 to 375 kW
• 2, 4 and 6 pole
• Duty type S1
• Frequency: 50 or 60 Hz

Instead, this Directive does not apply to some types of motors including two-speed motors, motors for hazardous areas (ATEX) and brake motors. Nevertheless, in view of saving energy and thereby reducing costs and CO2 emissions, Cemp decided to update his motors (Ex-d, Ex-de, Ex-nA) to the new Standards and EC Directive.

Series AB, AC, AN - EI2 motors additional features

Windings
New project for rotor and stator windings.
Use materials with better performances
Temperatures reduction

Ventilation
Newly designed fan cover with space reduction
Reduced friction consequently reducing the mechanical losses
Improved airflow
Noise reduction

Terminal box
Shape, large size and positioning are designed to facilitate the heat dissipation

Cemp introduce his latest motors range compliant to Atex, IECEx and IE2, at MDA - Hannover Messe (H 24 - B 20).
