New Carbon Monoxide Monitor for Abrasive Blast Operator Protection CLEMCO

The new CMS-3 Carbon Monoxide Monitor from Clemco Industries Corp. is the first in-helmet mounted monitor approved by the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health for use in Clemco Apollo 20, 60, and 600 NIOSH-approved, type CE, supplied-air respirators for abrasive blasting. The monitor provides personal protection against dangerous CO, which can contaminate the blast operator’s air supply from a faulty air compressor or contaminated air drawn in by an ambient air pump.

The single-gas monitor is microprocessor-controlled, weighs only 1.6 ounces, and mounts inside the blast respirator, where the operator is immediately warned of dangerous CO gas or of a monitor malfunction. Distinctive audible, visual and vibratory alarms alert the wearer of elevated carbon monoxide levels in the breathing air supply.

The unit is easily calibrated and installed. Sensors are field replaceable and have a life expectancy of about two years. Battery life is estimated at 3000 hours.
