Product Overview
A Midwest manufacturer of custom automotive machinery was searching for a solution to enhance the automation of clamping fixtures for SUV frames as well as improve performance of convertible top professional testers. Experiencing difficulties with the long stroke cylinders and tight framework, the customer implemented externally mounted actuators as a possible solution. As a result, the machine was much too large and limited supply storage areas. Searching for a better application solution, the customer contacted Compact Automation (CAP).



Product Solution
CAP recommended using the CAP full Husky series (SFH) to
maximize bearing specifications support for the long stroke cylinders and use the Guided Cylinders (GC) series for guided support. Compact’s low profile cylinders allowed the equipment manufacturer to minimize the overall machine size. This aided in the flow of
supplies and reduced necessary labor.



Application Opportunity
As a result, CAP was specified by the customer for their successful application solution. The customer was also very pleased with the amount of production space that was recovered in their plant. The customer is currently seeking additional quotes on potential future projects with CAP worth approximately 10K. There is great potential for future application solutions within fixture building companies located in the Midwest and
throughout North America.
