CONEC designed a special zinc diecast hood for use on MicroTCA power supply suppliers modules.
To use both ports of the specified 7W2 dual port interconnector parallel, a very flat design for the outer dimensions of the hood had to be implemented. Simultaneously, the design should supply enough space to store two power and two signal lines, a strain relief and a system to mount the cable assembly suppliers on the connector, inside the hood.
With the “MicroTCA hood 7W2”, part number 16-000010, CONEC offers an ideal solution for these requirements. The hood features a flat design in combination with a side cable exit and screw mounting possibilities for secure mount on MicroTCA power modules in accordance to MicroTCA specifications.
