The 2nd generation XP2i, digital pressure gauge is now sealed to IP67!
San Luis Obispo, CA – Crystal Engineering Corporation, a leading pressure instrumentation company, has released the 2nd generation XP2i, a high accuracy, intrinsically safe digital pressure gauge for lab and field use. The new XP2i continues to incorporate Crystal’s differentiating features that make it one of the most popular digital pressure gauges for natural gas transmission and distribution, at nuclear power stations, refineries, offshore platforms, and on-board ships (including the US Navy). The new XP2i is more weatherproof and corrosion resistant, making it an ideal solution for challenging environments.
“We are committed to continually improving our products and providing pressure solutions that make our customers’ job easier,” says Tom Halaczkiewicz, President of Crystal Engineering. For example, factors that affect offshore use is moisture penetration and corrosion. “We designed the new XP2i with a new nickel-plated aluminum enclosure that is sealed to IP 67, making it capable of immersion in 1 meter of water for up to 30 minutes. Corrosion resistance is significantly improved, outperforming the previous stainless steel case in salt spray tests per ASTM B117.” says Tom. In addition to the new design, all XP2i gauges now include ATEX certification along with CSA and IECEx intrinsic safety certificates, standard and at no extra cost.
“Another challenge with field installations is display readability. We incorporated new features in the design of the new XP2i to address that. The new LCD window is 10% larger and the backlight is twice as bright (without using more battery power). The XP2i can still run for 1500 hours on only 3 AA batteries,” says Tom.
