The new WSDI-2 wind indicator - want to know which way the wind blows?
03-06-2009 Which way does the wind blow?
The new WSDI-2 wind indicator measures the exact wind speed and direction. It interfaces directly to DEIF’s own WSS sensor and most other sensors in the market.
Flexible indication
Wind direction is shown with a large analogue pointer and the wind speed on a digital display. The user interface enables you to set wind speed readout to ms, knots or Beaufort and the wind value to either relative or true. In addition, you can choose between ten different dimmer levels. One of these levels will turn off the scale and pointer illumination and boost the LED displays for optimal readout in direct sunlight. Remote dimming is optional.
Compatibility
The WSDI-2 is directly compatible with the WSS sensor and most other sensors available in today’s market. In addition, it is an obvious choice when upgrading less recent DEIF installations. The existing cables from sensor to bridge are reuseable.
Interfaces
The RS-485 WSS sensor interface is directly connected to the WSDI-2 terminals. All other communication is done via CANopen.
Easy installation
The display is front mounted in a standard Q144 cut out. In case it has to be removed, no overhead panel needs to be disassembled. All connectors are removable making installation possible without the display nearby.
Major class approvals
The WSDI-2 has pending class approvals from GL, CCS, DNV, RS and GOST-R.
