Press release from DEUTZ - 2007-12-13

Monitor engines and machinery online worldwide using DEUTZ Telematics

DEUTZ AG, Cologne, is the first manufacturer who has developed its own telemetry system for industrial engines. The current condition of the engine and all machinery can be constantly and reliably evaluated in real time using key engine data such as coolant, oil and fuel levels, which are transmitted to a central server.

Having road-tested this system, customers are highly satisfied with DEUTZ Telematics. The data can be read and evaluated on any internet-enabled computer. DEUTZ Telematics works bi-directionally, so that it can provide remote access to defined functions as well as analysing and monitoring the machine.

Functions, such as 'geo-fencing' theft protection, prove the intelligence of this system. An internet interface enables users to stipulate the operating range of their machinery. If this limit is exceeded, a warning signal is emitted or a text message is sent to the owner.

By constantly monitoring the capacity utilisation and availability of their engines and machinery, customers are able to identify excess capacities and improve the efficiency of their vehicle fleets. DEUTZ Telematics can optimise the scheduling process.

Further advantages:
• downtimes can be reduced drastically
• maintenance can be better planned
• easy to install
• compatible with non-DEUTZ engines.

Using a CAN bus or digital/analogue inputs, the controller records engine data and transmits it at freely-configurable intervals by Global Packet Radio Service (GPRS) to a central server.

Various price models are also available, which enables customers to select the most favourable offer for their respective purposes.
