Optical contrast diffuse sensor
Introduction:
Contrast and print marks are established tools for reliably decting, correctly positioning, and processing packaging materials in automated production processes. They are used as reference marks and are usually printed onto the edge of the packaging in the form of a bar.
Optical contrast sensors and print mark sensors are suited to the reliable detection of print marks on packaging items such as films, banderoles, cardboard boxes, tubes and labels.
Product description:
di-soric can supply the optical contrast sensor - OKTTI 55 - for such applications. The distinguishing feature of this sensor is its reliability in detecting print marks and its user-friendly operating concept.
The contrast mark is learnt by the user simply pressing the Teach-In button or by a control signal on the Teach-In input during running processes.
In the focus of the clocked white light source of the OKTTI 55 the print marks present major differences in contrast to the colour of the packaging. The optimum working distance is 30 mm. The OKTTI 55 can reliably distinguish between mark and background with a contrast difference of just 4%. The print mark is reliably detected as of a size of 0.3 mm under the best contrast conditions. It takes less than 0.2 milliseconds for the sensor to respond to the mark.
di-soric contrast sensors satisfy the high demands applicable in conjunction with packaging machines. The sealed and encapsulated electronics and the robust metal casing with IP67 protection still guarantee the best level of protection from the penetration of dust and fluids and ensure outstanding resistance to shock and vibrations. A M12 metal plug connector provides the reliable and stable contact.
di-soric contrast sensors are equipped with a push-pull power stage and can be used as both PNP and NPN switching devices. A function for switching between NC and NO is also integrated.
Conclusion:
di-soric offers the ideal equipment for suppliers and end users in the packaging industry. The optical OKTTI 55 contrast sensor is another highlight from the company’s range of powerful sensors with a simple operating concept.
