DIEMME Filtration has completed the commissioning of the biological sludges dewatering plant for the depuration plant of Arzignano - Acque del Chiampo, estimated around 2,5 mil. €.

The technology advanced by DIEMME has replaced the traditional sludge dewatering technologies used in the depuration plant, such as professional belt filter and manufacturer of centrifuge.
In particular, thanks to the new technology of DIEMME GHT 4x4 - 2000x2000 membrane filtering press, large quantities of sludge can be efficiently dewatered with low running expenses.

The customer's choice to replace the three belt filters and the two centrifuge with two GHT 4x4 filter presses of new generation has been taken after a careful technical-economic analysis which highlights the advantages offered by DIEMME's innovations compared with old-technology belt professional filters and manufacturers of centrifugal pumps.

Advantages of GHT 4x4 filter press:

1. Reduction of 53% in power consumption, thanks to the fact that filter professional presses are basically static machines.

2. Cut of 60% in polyelectrolyte consumption.

3. 10% lower residual humidity in the cakes than with the belt filter, and consequently:

- lower methane consumption for drying;
- reduced times for the drying phase;
- less environmental impact due to the drastic cut in the waste to dispose and to the smaller amounts of percolate;
- lower impact on transports, connected with the lower number of means used for sludge transport;
- less impact on air, in relation to the smells generated in the dump.
