WHERE THE DOORS OPEN TO LIFE, DITEC IS CHOSEN DITEC

Hôpital Mère Enfant Rockefeller in Lyon

This most surprising thing about Lyon is its capacity to combine, absorb and make "Lyonnais" practically everything which over time has become part of its existence.

Thanks also to the developed transportation network, Lyon has become a large centre for the European service industry, a city in which the circulation of people, merchandise, capital and ideas is inserted among the principal development factors.

Health services are also in the avant-garde; here, the integration between public and private is pursued with intelligence by the administrators, to the complete benefit of the citizens. In this perspective comes, the Hôpital Mère Enfant Rockefeller, part of the Groupe Hôpitaux Privés du Grand Lyon, which was inaugurated in 2010. The Obstetrics and Gynaecology Department, in addition to the actual maternity clinic - a "factory" delivering 4,000 births a year, with sections accommodating the most varied birthing techniques, from the most natural, even in water, to the most medical - includes a prenatal diagnostic service, an assisted reproduction centre, all the surgical specialities connected to mother and child and a perinatal psychology unit.

It is an ultra modern hospital, in which every detail has been designed to combine the comfort of the patients with maximum functionality. It is therefore not surprising that there is great demand for automatic doors (try using a handle while pushing a pram or carrying a baby!). But it may be a little surprising to learn that for some technical selections, French manufacturers were not selected: DITEC provided about forty sliding door and four swing doors...mainly REX, doors of great functionality in which the "unique" locking system contains a traction unit and an electronic panel. But there are other models, including telescopic, and even metal security gates. Most probably, this can be interpreted as a comforting sign of strictness and seriousness; they decided to use the best solutions available on the market and this they did, regardless of whether they were produced in France or not. And now, those automatic entrances have lived as a constituent part of the hospital centre: so, they're full-blooded Lyonnais, like everything the city welcomes and makes it own.
