Create stunning control panels with programmable pushbuttons EAO
A programmable pushbutton with multi-coloured ‘halo’ illumination is now available from EAO – the expert partner for Human Machine Interfaces.
The Series 84 PCB, a range of 22.5mm, PCB-mounted pushbuttons and indicators, can be programmed to change colour, pulse, flash, illuminate the edge and create a variety of other dynamic effects. Up to 10 different colours can be com¬bined in one switch using SMD LED technology: eight within the outer ‘halo’ ring and an additional bi-colour LED in the centre.
For designers and developers, this opens up new possibilities for creating exciting, engaging and more intuitively easy-to-use control panels - in even smaller areas. More functions can be assigned to single switches; initiation sequences can be shown with a dynamic LED countdown; a pushbutton can be used to increase or decrease output - with each press another LED lights up around the ring. They are ideal for use alongside touchscreens and displays as a way of emphasising additional or primary controls.
The actuator, which is transparent, is mounted on the PCB by means of a newly developed flange with snap-on connector. There’s a choice of flat or raised, plastic or aluminium lenses. The complete switch can be mounted very quickly into a Ø22.5mm hole.
The Series 84 PCB range is perfect for use in machinery, automation and process control equipment, as well as medical and instrumentation devices.
