HLT3500 High Power CO2 Laser 3.5kW

The concept of the HLT3500 :

To provide an excellent-quality high power laser beam

Suitable for cutting thin and thick materials

From a compact, rugged, self-contained laser

Using the latest technology available for reliability and ease of maintenance

The HLT3500 is a DC-excited, fast-axial-flow (FAF) carbon dioxide laser. It has been explicitly developed and manufactured for use in industry. It is completely modular in nature, which minimizes downtime due to ease of maintenance. All external optics necessary to transform the raw laser beam into a collimated, circularly polarised beam suitable for cutting are incorporated in the design. Also, the resonator is protected from back-reflections from the work piece.

A custom-designed oil free high speed blower with integrated heat exchangers, a fully-modular solid-state DC high-voltage supply with active feedback current stabilisation, latest-generation surface cooled UV resistant resonator mirrors in stress-free mounts, the use of a mass-flow controller based mixing unit for the laser gases, a dry-running VITON membrane vacuum pump,…are all factors that contribute to the compactness and reliability of the laser source.

The SIEMENS based architecture of the laser controls ensures ease of operation both from the built-in touch panel or indirectly through a machine CNC.

The HLT3500 is a high-power, Class IV CO2 laser with a rated output power of 3500W and a maximum of 4kW. The laser radiation has a wavelength of 10.6mm and as such is invisible to the human eye. To facilitate alignment with external mirrors, a visible Class IIIA green laser diode pointer is standard and pre-aligned with the main beam. The visible beam is only present with closed shutter, and hence no accidents can occur since the main beam is always blocked when the pilot beam is visible.

The laser requires 3-phase 400V and PE, N45 quality pure He/N2/CO2 gas, pressurised air to operate the shutter and a water supply for cooling. Total electrical power needed is 40kW at full power.

The laser is designed for stationary use.

The internal controls monitor all safety mechanisms (hardware and software) implemented.
