Although some customers in Norway and Sweden have already had an opportunity to experience ELDON POWER SYSTEM (EPS) for themselves, the official launch will be at this year’s Hannover Messe (21 – 25 April).

This all new system is available for a variety of DISTRIBUTION and MOTOR CONTROL CENTRE applications, and is available for use with Primary ACB´s, Secondary MCCB´s, and Terminal MCB´s, or fixed, and plug-in sections with different forms of segregation.

Although we are calling EPS “new”, we have a small confession to make, because EPS is actually based on our Multi-Flex range of mild steel floor standers, so is incredibly strong, flexible and fully tested to EN 60439 (“Low-voltage switchgear and controlgear assemblies”, especially Part 1 of the standard for “Type-tested and partially type-tested assemblies”).

The main advantages of The Eldon Power System are:

1. EPS is a Type Tested Assembly

2. You are able to manufacture partially type-tested assemblies by meeting the following conditions:

- The switching devices and components incorporated in the assembly shall comply with the relevant IEC standards, and should be suitable for the particular application with respect to the external design, electrical values, installation, etc.
- Electrical connections inside the assembly must comply with the EN 60439-1 7.8.

3. When the customer builds an EPS assembly, it is not necessary to carry out the type tests, the customer only needs to carry out the routine tests.
