Elfab, Europe’s leading manufacturer of bursting discs have further developed their product range to allow OEM customers to benefit from their fail-safe burst detection system Flo-Tel™.

Since the launch of Flo-Tel™ in 2003 Elfab have sold thousands of units of the integral burst detection system to a range of industries worldwide. Elfab have now further developed their burst detection system so customers in OEM markets can also benefit. OE Flo-Tel will allow these customers to identify when a disc has functioned within one of their applications.

OE Flo-Tel features all the benefits of Elfab’s original magnetic burst detection system and is suitable for a number of Elfab’s Custom Engineered Devices including those that are Electron Beam Welded, of which Elfab have unique in-house capability. The non-invasive detection system is installed on the vent side of the bursting disc and unlike traditional membrane-type detectors, both Flo-Tel and OE Flo-Tel are fail-safe and only operate when a disc has functioned, thereby eliminating false alarms.

OE Flo-Tel will benefit a range of OEM customers with applications in industries such as military, aerospace, defence and medical. Fitted to the wall of the component OE Flo-Tel is available for discs with a nominal bore of 25mm to 100mm.
