Elpress transformer system at CG Power Systems Elpress
When it was time for Belgian CG Power
Systems to choose its supplier of connectors
and tools for crimping, they carried out
a thorough preliminary evaluation.
“If something goes wrong in our industry,
it can cost a lot of money. Quality is
crucial for us,” says Erwin Buys, Production
Manager at CG Power.
CG Power Systems in Belgium manufactures
large power transformers.
“When we came into contact with Elpress
at the Hannover Fair this spring, we
had been looking for a supplier of equipment
with terminals and tools for crimping
for some time,” says Erwin Buys, Production
Manager at CG Power.
In early June, the Segment Manager for
Electrical Machines at Elpress, Andreas
Sjöholm, went down to Belgium to present
the Elpress system.
“Initially I am always very clear that we will
never be cheapest on the market, however,
we do have a dedicated system and we have
documentation for all the tests we have made
on our products, and we take responsibility
for our applications from start to finish.”
Right now, there is a gradual implementation
of the Elpress system at CG Power.
“We have completed training in the use
of the system with CG Power’s operators,
who are now certified to operate the
equipment. We have extensive experience
in transformer components, but we always
want to be responsive to each customer’s
specific preferences and needs. It’s therefore
not unusual for a start-up to take half a
year,” says Andreas Sjöholm.
“We are very hopeful that the Elpress
system will contribute both to a more
time-efficient process and will also lead to
quality enhancements,” says Erwin Buys.
