TRA3000 impulse generator can dramatically reduce test time for ElectroMagnetic Compatibility (EMC) testing. This integrated test solutions for Smart grid products includes Electrostatic Discharge (ESD), Electric fast Transient (EFT), Surge, DIPS and Common Mode (CM) capability in one unit. Well advanced in development, and used in some countries, Smart Meters will ultimately be switching off electrical products to even- out demand and generating automatic billing information. This new technology requires a change to existing test requirements. The International Electrotechnical Committee (IEC) and the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) are developing standards specifically for Smart Meters.
