For many years cement industry operators have said "Measuring in rotating kiln inlets just doesn’t work." That this perception is no longer true and that it is possible to measure continuously and reliably, and under high dust conditions at temperatures up to 1400°C, is now proven by CEMTEC® high temperature analyser systems made by ENOTEC GmbH, which have provided successful and trouble-free operation in use over 5 years.
The first CEMTEC® high temperature analyser system was provided to HOLCIM in Gladstone/Australia in the summer of 2004. This first system was followed by many other systems. In Germany (e.g. for LAFARGE), in Europe (e.g. for Mittal Steel in Romania) and in other worldwide locations (e.g. for cement plants in Mexico and in Iran).
The CEMTEC® measuring system, which is unique throughout the world, combines the following features:
• a turning drive (-> no fixing inside the kiln inlet)
• mechanical cleaning of the probe (-> no interruption of the measured value logging) and
• fast response time by using InSitu analysis.
Due to the turning device and the mechanical cleaning, automatic retraction of the probe during operation is not necessary. Also, cleaning with pressurised air, which causes an interruption of the measured value logging, needs to be carried out less frequently (max. once an hour).
As a result, the CEMTEC® analyser system achieves a measuring value availability of 95%, and outclasses all competitors’ probes.
Process gas analysing directly in the kiln inlet is not a pipe dream anymore. The CEMTEC® high temperature analyser systems from ENOTEC GmbH provide the evidence that under these difficult conditions, a nearly uninterruptible and highly reliable measurement is possible.
