Press release from EWM HIGHTEC WELDING - 2008-02-11

TETRIX 180 – What the professional is carrying this season

430 × 180 × 295, net weight 8.9 kilogram: with these perfect vital statistics the TETRIX 180 portable inverter TIG power source from EWM HIGHTEC WELDING, Mündersbach, is the new star for both assembly jobs and construction site use. Fitted with the special digital COMFORT control system, it is a true professional in terms of handling and welding results. The unit masters all kinds of joining tasks, from the production line to heating, ventilation and metalwork repairs, and is equally at home in the food industry or a chemical factory. The unit shows its versatility and strength just as well when it comes to construction of pipelines, containers, instrumentation, vehicles, machinery, plant and tools. Up to eight JOBs (welding tasks) can also be called up directly on the torch – and therefore directly at the workpiece; the power source is in full control of the joining task, making use of the efficient EWM activArc process as well as high frequency pulses and TIG spotArc spots (another type of special process from EWM).

Depending on the technique used (TIG, EWM activArc or MMA), the power source can provide up to 180 Ampere welding current for joining of non-alloy, low-alloy and high-alloy steels, copper, nickel-based alloys and special materials such as cast aluminium. The stable, concentrated arc provides for excellent welding results using TIG and activArc welding techniques. Particularly impressive is the TIG arc provided by the EWM activArc option, which allows the welder to carry out work more quickly and conveniently across the unit's full power spectrum.
