Cost-effective production possible thanks to intelligent FANUC robots
Wild&Küpfer is producing plastic parts for various industries. A worldwide known producer of electrical instruments asked the Swiss-based company to assemble and ship plastic sockets for fire alarm. In order to remain competitive, the solution had to be entirely automated. The operator simply brings the goods to the line and takes out the professional pallet.
At Wild & Küpfer AG, 3 communicating industrial robots can work 5 hours in a row without operator intervention. They reach an impressive cycle time of 6 seconds per fire alarm to perform following tasks:
• Recognition of every socket housing with vision
• Part location
• Industrial laser labeling
• Professional clamp isolating and mounting
• Checking the spring clamp color, part mounting
• Preparing the instruction leaflet
• Product stacking and packing in bag
• Bag labeling
• Finished bags palletizing
Those robots are:
• 2 M-6iB/2HS high speed picking robots with 2kg payload
• 1 M-710iC/50 for the final palletizing operation
This intelligent line has been set up by Robotec, Authorized System Integrator for FANUC robots but also using Fanuc GE CNC. This 100% FANUC solution ensures smooth interface for fieldbus, visualization and Ethernet protocols.
