New 21 Joule Model Joins ATEX-rated Lineup of WV450X Series Lights
University Park, Ill, March 7, 2011 - Federal Signal introduces a 21 Joule model to its highly efficient and long life WV450X series of heavy duty, corrosion resistant, ATEX certified hazardous location GRP strobe warning signals. Mirroring the proven features of the ATEX-rated 5, 10 and 15 Joule lights that precede it in the WV450 series, the higher 21J output version employs the same non-metallic glass reinforced polyester (GRP) construction to ensure optimum corrosion resistance in tandem with reduced maintenance.
Ideally suited for the demands of the most rugged land-based and off-shore industrial applications, the WV450X strobe warning lights come standard with impact-resistant stainless steel dome guards designed to protect against accidental impact. Units are available in voltages of 110VAC and 220-248VAC, and provide a choice of seven lens colors: amber, blue, clear, green, magenta, red and yellow. WV450 series strobe beacons meet approval requirements for IP66, IECEx and ATEX (EExd IIB+T3, EExd H2+IIB+T4).
The WV450XD includes a 316 stainless steel bracket for either wall mounting or fastening to a vertical surface; two holes are tapped for M20 thread in the bottom of the base to accommodate field gland connections. The WV450XE includes all the same features of the "D" version, but incorporates a terminal chamber designed to house field terminations and pass-through wiring.
