The pneumatically operated power vices GN 864, GN 865 and GN 866 made by Ganter in Furtwangen are designed for clamping, gripping, and positioning workpieces in jigs and handling devices.
These power clamps are small, compact and light-weight, use a minimum of air and have a service life of as many as 20 million clamping cycles, an advantage particularly when used in handling systems. With their piston diameters of 20, 32 and 40 mm they reach ultimate clamping and holding forces. Kinematics are such that self-retention is guaranteed in the clamping position. As the clamping arm closes quickly and the actual clamping movement is slow, pneumatic damping is normally not required.
The clamping mechanism with needle bearings guarantees ultimate clamping forces and keeps wear and tear to a minimum.
The steel professional cylinder with its frontal air connections forms a unit with the clamping mechanism which results in a high degree of stability at small dimensions and unlimited fixture options.
The clamping mechanism in model GN 864 is protected from fouling and from foreign bodies impairing the proper function (e.g. when used in welding).
There is a wide range of accessory items and equipment available for these power clamps, such as industrial feeder bolt holders, industrial counter stays for starting bolts specification, clamping jaw holders and clamping jaw blanks, proximity switches manufacturer (inductive sensor), locking holders, etc.
