General Cable, the world’s leading cable producer, is launching a new series of aluminium conductor cables, designed for underground distribution installations with a voltage of up to 1 kV. The HARMOHNY range will enable the characteristics of this type of cable to be aligned to the requirements of the revised UNE-EN 211.603 5N1 standard.
The main novelty in the new HARMOHNY cables is the outer jacket which brings significant benefits compared with traditional Al RVs types. The jacket is composed of a halogen-free PE blend with no toxic or corrosive gas emission, which means total respect for the environment, in line with General Cable’s company principles.
The jacket on this new series of cables also represents a substantial improvement due to its higher mechanical abrasion and tear resistance, along with enhanced protection against water penetration from being bonded to the insulation.
