Handtmann presents first horizontal machining center HBZ AeroCell
Especially for the aerospace industry handtmann developed the horizontal machining centre HBZ AeroCell for high performance cutting of aluminium plates, bars and professional profiles. The innovative palette changing system allows machining of parts up to the size of 4.000 x 2.000 mm at a chip removal rate up to 12.000 cm³. These parameters are achieved thanks to the Fischer- HSC spindle with 110 kW, speeds up to 80 m/min in all linear axis and a acceleration up to 0,7 G. The horizontal machining of the parts guarantees optimal chip- and coolant evacuation at those high material removal rates.
The automatically loading of the machine parallel to the machining time is very important for the HSC specialist in the innovative machine concepts. Due to the innovative loading arm of the machining table a minimum of required space is needed and there are two possibilities for loading: from the top and from the side, which is of high priority for heavy parts and clamping fixtures. With the HBZ AeroCell down times during loading and unloading can be reduced to minimum and thereby the output will considerably be increased.
Like all handtmann HSC machining centres the HBZ AeroCell is built to highest safety standards. A complete machine housing protects the machine operator against all eventualities and the palette changing system is saved via additional mounted light grids.
At the EMO show in Hannover, Hall 12, booth D72 the HBZ AeroCell will be presented first time in Germany, on the Handtmann “Aerospace Days” in October you can see the machining centre live under production.
