With two international top projects Hecus X-ray systems is on the best path to being the worldwide market leader in X- ray nanoanalysis in the medium term.
Only a year ago, Hecus introduced the X-ray camera S3-MICROpix which has been very successful on the market and already Hecus is working on two new innovations: on the one hand a combination of X-ray camera and micro calorimeter, on the other hand femtosecond laser technology.
Both are international top projects which derived from customer wishes and the interests of the industry. The first is being carried out in co-operation with a French company which specialises in calorimeters. A prototype is being built in Graz for a Canadian University and should grow into a production ready product in the next year. Apart from universities, primarily the pharmaceutical and food industries have shown a great deal of interest in this device.
Making super fast atom- and molecule-movement visible in biological and synthetic materials – this is possible using femtosecond laser technology, the second project by Hecus X-ray Systems. „Until now this was only possible at a few large research institutes worldwide“, says Laggner and continues: „due to the innovative combination of bright X-ray optics and compact laser technology Hecus is developing a device for “regular” research laboratories, in collaboration with researchers and equipment manufacturers from Graz, Berlin and Göttingen.“
The development competence of the partners and customers and the technical knowledge of Hecus is the optimum requirement for international large orders worth millions.
