Design advance for weld purging
Welding engineers recognise two particular problems when considering gas purging. These are, turbulence in the weld area and leaks – both afford opportunities for contamination with oxygen.
At Huntingdon Fusion Techniques Limited, we have now addressed these problems with our purging systems and come up with a design solution – the multi point gas flow concept. This has already been introduced into our inflatable systems covering the 50/150 mm (2/7inch) diameters.
Main Characteristics
* Laminar flow eliminates gas turbulence
* Ports can be used for flow or exhaust gas
* New 8 mm quick insert/release connections
* Exhausting from the centre ensures good sealing at the periphery
* Exhaust gas volume can be increased if required
* One port can be used for exhaust gas sampling
