New: Maintenance-free linear plain bearings

New: Maintenance-free linear plain bearings "RJMP"

Cut fitting time without any play

Bearing specialist igus GmbH, Cologne, presented a new generation of "DryLin R" linear plain bearings "RJM" at the Hanover Trade Show. The new range "RJMP" – where "P" stands for precision – is made completely of tribo-optimised plastic. The lubricant and maintenance-free bearings help to cut fitting time significantly and have optimised clearance.

According to igus, the motivation behind developing the "RJMP" bearings was cost reduction coupled with retaining the performance of conventional bushings. In addition, the dimensions of the new bearings correspond to those of recirculating ball bearings.

The linear plain bearings are designed for push fit, just like ball bearings. The bearings are the secured in the H7 housing by circlips in accordance with DIN 471 or DIN 472. In comparison with lubricated metallic bearings, plastic RJMP bearings are light and corrosion-free, resistant to dirt and chemicals as well as being dry-running. These parts can also be steam cleaned. and run very quietly. with little vibration, since there are no moving parts in the product.

Last but not least, the manufacturer igus has also further improved precision in the inner diameter. The bearings have very little play - between 0.01 and 0.03 mm. "RJMP" also has good emergency running properties.

The linear plain bearings are made of the tried-and-tested plain bearing material "iglidur J". This material compound for many shafts combines extremely low friction values with a long service life. "RJMP" is available ex stock immediately with no minimum order surcharge from a batch size of one. The six sizes 10, 12, 16, 20, 25 and 30 mm diameter are initially available.
