The instruments IS 5-LO/GL and IS 50-LO/GL are digital infrared thermometers with fibre optics for non-contact temperature measurement, which are especially designed for the glass industry. Standard applications are the temperature measurement of the glass tank, at the working end, the forehearth and the feeder, as well as the temperature measurement of the refrectory in regenerators and tanks. Using robust fibre optics (lengths up to 30 m) the instruments can be installed in an ambient temperature up to 250°C without water cooling.

The IS 5-LO/GL is a digital pyrometer with addressable RS232 or RS485 interface. Consequently all parameters can be adjusted with a PC. Inside the two basic temperature ranges (650…1800°C or 800…2500°C), sub temperature ranges can be adjusted. The pyrometer is very fast (response time < 2 ms), the spot sizes (from 5 ms) make possible the measurement of small objects. An analogue-output (0/4…20 mA switchable), the integrated maximum value storage and an optional laser targeting light top off the profile of this pyrometer.

The digital two-wire-pyrometer IS 50-LO/GL features a service interface to adjust the analogue output (0/4…20 mA). The basic temperature range of the instrument is 600…1800°C, in which sub temperature ranges can be adjusted as well.
