The RPC was designed for working in dirty, wet or dusty surroundings, e.g. in mining, construction, sawmills and brickyards as well as for outdoor applications such as harbour facilities, construction machinery and waterworks. A precondition for operation in all these environments is a waterproof housing inclusive of all professional connectors, a fanless computer board, a shockproof installation and a reliable membrane keypad.

An integrated 85-key membrane keyboard, a fanless industrial grade LCD 12” and an IP65 sealed housing ensure the reliable use in rugged industrial environments. The complete system is RoHS compliant.

A foil covered keyboard of the TKF-085b series by InduKey® is used in the MASS RPC - Ruggedized PC. This keyboard features an ultra-low profile. Gold-plated metal domes offer a distinct tactile feedback. The TKF-085b industrial keyboards are protected to IP65 ratings against dust and liquids.
