item Industrietechnik GmbH, whose headquarters are situated in Solingen, Germany, designs and is the global supplier for the industrial MB Building Kit System. Based on aluminium profiles, a harmonised connection method and versatile functional components, the Building Kit System is suitable for plant engineering and construction solutions. A dense network of service centres throughout the world provides support for users by offering a wide variety of services, which range from advice to commissioning and right through to delivery of all system components at short notice.
Since April 2007, the new warehouse has predominantly been supplying goods to item retailers within the NAFTA (North American Free Trade Agreement) zone. The Building Kit System components – of which there are over 1500 – are temporarily stored in an area covering approximately 5000 square metres. In the future, the aim is ensure that products are available at even shorter notice – a practice which the trading partners of item GmbH in Europe are already familiar with.
