After extensive testing on board the Royal Dutch Navy's frigate Hr.Ms. Van Speijk, the effective use of vortex coolers has been successfully proven. A 727SSBSP Vortex Cooler kept the temperature inside the engine room control cabinet within the required parameters, preventing overheating problems even in tropical waters. The Royal Navy is in the process of introducing more Coolers on more ships.

Vortec products, Coolers and Personal Air Conditioners are also used in other maritime applications, like on board pipe laying vessels Lorelay, Solitaire and Audacia from the All Seas Group, one of the major offshore pipelay and subsea construction companies in the world. Coolers are also used on various oil platforms in the North Sea.
