Press release from JAKOB - 2008-04-25

A bit bigger?

Even experts gaze awesomely at faceplates with a diameter of 5m and workpieces with a weight of more than 200 tons. How do you get these workpieces clamped onto the faceplate?
As manufacturer of power clamping screws, JAKOB Antriebstechnik offers the ideal solution to clamp workpieces as turbinerotors onto the faceplates. clamping screws with an ingenious interior move the holding cantilever or clamping claws against the worpiece to clamp it. Clamping screws are used in faceplates or clamping disks on vertical, horizontal, center, facing and roll turning lathe specifications, in grinding and special machines.

JAKOB clamping screws were conceived right from the beginning for highest demands and maximum workpiece weights with the best possible operational reliability. The user can choose between two standard versions in single-and double-acting design, i.e. they are equally suitable for external and internal clamping.

The advantages are convincing, as the main features indicate:
• very high clamping forces with low tightening torques
• maximum operational reliability and high rigidity
• large power clamping stroke and high alignment accuracy
• easy operation and assembly
• low maintenance effort
