Knox - a safety lock from Jokab Safety AB JOKAB SAFETY

  • Knox - a safety lock from Jokab Safety AB
The Knox is made of stainless steel to cope with the tough conditions in the timber industry.

The Knox is a robust and strong safety and process lock that guarantees no-one can gain access to hazardous machinery parts until is has completely stopped. The handle operates like a normal door handle but contains a combined resetting and locking function, which means that it does not require a separate reset button or additional safety switch.

The Knox safety lock fulfils the highest safety category for locks and has been developed by Jokab Safety AB. The lock has three different states: open, locked and reset. When the lock is in its open or locked states it acts like a normal door lock, but if the handle is raised it enters the reset state, and in that case the machine can be started. While the machine is running the door cannot be opened without a positive unlocking signal. During for example running down, it will not be possible to move the handle down until the machine is at a complete standstill. Naturally, for safety reasons, it is always possible to open the door from the inside, using the emergency opening handle.

The Knox is a complete door solution and does not therefore require a separate button for resetting or a safety switch with associated fittings. Its design and durability make it suitable for the severe environment in the timber industry, since the sensors in the lock are of non-contact type and the lock is made of stainless steel.
