New Littelfuse SP4061 and SP4062 Series TVS Diode Arrays for Superior Lightning and ESD Protection of Ethernet Ports Littelfuse

  • New Littelfuse SP4061 and SP4062 Series TVS Diode Arrays for Superior Lightning and ESD Protection of Ethernet Ports
Littelfuse, Inc. (NASDAQ/NGS:LFUS), today announced the addition of the SP4061 and SP4062 Series to its expanding range of TVS Diode Arrays ( SPA™ Family) for ESD and Lightning protection.

The SP4061 and SP4062 Series are designed to protect high speed ports such as 10/100/1000 Ethernet and T3/E3 interfaces that may experience damage due to nearby lightning strikes. The SP4061 and SP4062 have standoff voltages of 2.5V and 3.3V, respectively, to accommodate the most typical PHY voltages being used today. Both devices are particularly suitable for protecting Ethernet ports used in PBX systems, VoIP phones, set-top boxes, switches and any other Customer Premises Equipment (CPE). Their robust surge protection and low clamping voltages help equipment manufacturers comply with regulatory standards such as GR-1089, ITU, and YD/T, extending equipment life and maximizing reliability.

The new SP4061 and SP062 Series are RoHS compliant and comply with the following standards:

•ESD, IEC61000-4-2, ±30kV (contact), ±30kV (air)
•EFT, IEC61000-4-5, 40A (tP=5/50ns)
•Lightning, IEC61000-4-5, 20A (tP=8/20ìs)

In addition to superior ESD protection (±30kV, contact) and surge capability (20A, tP=8/20ìs), the SP4061 and SP4062 Series TVS Diode Arrays offer a low capacitive loading of only 3.5 pF with best-in-class clamping performance due to their low dynamic resistance of 0.35Ù and 0.25Ù, respectively. The combination of these features make the SP4061 and SP4062 ideal for protecting sensitive Ethernet PHY’s and other high-speed I/O ports that may experience damage due to nearby lightning events.
