The DS and DN decontactors are industrial plugs and sockets with an integral load break isolating switch, automatically watertight IP66/IP67 as soon as the plug is inserted. The decontactor has a short circuit rating thus offering the user protection from arcing hazards if closing on a fault.
Designed to last
Uniquely designed spring-loaded silver-nickel butt contacts are excellent conductors and also guarantee resistance to corrosion, mechanical shock (IK08) whilst operating at temperatures from -40 °C to +60 °C.
The DN and the DS ranges withstand continuously up to 250 A / 1000 V a.c. and can carry significant overloads of between 2 to 8 times more than those laid out in the EN 60309-1 standard.
Reduce downtime
Their robust design makes them the perfect solution for installation in the heavy-duty mining and tunnelling industries. Where decontactors replace hard-wired equipment, a fitter can replace a motor or pumping safely and quickly. Operating costs are reduced as re-wiring on site is no longer necessary.
Decontactors for explosive atmospheres
Due to possible presence of professional gases some mines are classed as a potentially explosive atmosphere. A complete range of ATEX products exist with an “e” protection. Reliable and compact, they can be used in zones 1 and 2 (gas) and zones 21 and 22 (dust)
