MEDER electronic AG has been operating in Asia through distribution channels for approximately 15 years. In 2002 we founded our Asian sales headquarter in Hong Kong by which we have been able to develop and cement our position in the Asian market considerably. So far our production took place at the sites of 3 CM`s (Contract Manufacturers) in China. However, in the course of a strategic concentration on the essential it became indispensable for us to set up our own factory.

As a result we established a Joint-Venture with our long-standing subcontractor in Shanghai, GHL International. For the last 7 years GHL has been a steady and reliable partner for the assembly of Reed relays and Reed sensors. Approx. 1.5 Mio USD were invested in the alteration and upgrading of professional buildings, equipment and IT.

The name of our new Joint-Venture: MEDER – GHL (Shanghai) electronic Co., Ltd.. Our principal office is in Shanghai, from where we act both as supplier for the MEDER group and as distribution centre for China. We have recruited a number of German and English speaking engineers meanwhile.
