Replacement of rails due to wear of overhead conveyors in the automotive industry is a very common problem.
Together with a French car manufacturer, MEMOLUB has solved the problem by installing MEMOLUB HPS GIGA lubricators on a few trolleys of a 5 Km overhead conveyor. The lubricant is dispensed by the MEMOLUB lubricator onto the rollers of the trolleys which are then lubricating the full length of the rails.
On this specific conveyor, 5 trolleys have each been equipped with 2 MEMOLUB lubricators filled with a special fluid grease. When starting, MEMOLUB lubricators were setted on a 1 month basis and grease consumption per year was 55Kg lubricant. After 1 year, grease consumption has been reduced to 10Kg per year for the whole conveyor.
The plant has now 3 conveyors equipped with MEMOLUB systems and other plants in the same group are starting the same application.
